In June 2019, Kodak crossed the mark of 1000 CTPs installed in the Indian sub-continent, a milestone demonstrating that printers in this region are focused on achieving better quality with streamlined production and scalability to profitably grow their business.

The sale of Kodak’s 1000th CTP was completed by Insight Print Communications to a commercial printer based out of Gujarat who also uses KODAK SONORA Process Free Plates.

Kodak has continuously invested in innovations and technologies to help the print industry become profitable and sustainable. Within the prepress segment, Kodak holds the most robust portfolio in thermal technology. The only brand to provide prepress solutions right from equipment, software to consumables, Kodak caters to all segments of customers — commercial, offset packaging, newspapers, and publishing.

Kodak CTPs are a flagship product in the Indian print market. The company’s patented, industry-leading and award-winning KODAK SQUARESPOT technology creates an accurate, incredibly stable dot, consistently and reliably, plate after plate. Unlike diode-based technologies, Kodak thermal laser heads are incredibly durable and provide stunning print accuracy up to 10-micron stochastic screening. Kodak’s robust hardware is backed by industry-leading service and support backed by one of the most experienced teams in the industry.

Kodak’s newest KODAK TRENDSETTER and ACHIEVE Platesetters use lesser power while imaging than similar competitive devices, helping printers reduce energy costs. With market trends towards shorter runs, printers also need to produce more plates faster. Kodak has responded to this demand by introducing the W-Speed option for its TRENDSETTER Platesetters. With a throughput of up to 75 plates per hour (4-page) or 62 plates per hour (8-page), no faster Platesetter has a footprint as small. Kodak has also introduced the 4,800 / 5,080 dpi High-Resolution option on TRENDSETTER Platesetters which enables features like microprinting, guilloche, security application, lenticular application.

Kodak India’s growth in the India Sub-continent is supported by a network of trusted channel partners who have helped drive the sale of Kodak CTPs, including Insight Print Communications, Monotech Systems Ltd, and Fujito PTE. Kodak’s channel partnership strategy kicked off in 2002 when Insight Print Communications sold the first CTP to Pragati Offset in Hyderabad. More recently, The sale of 1001st Kodak CTP was recently made to Kalajyoti Hyderabad, South India’s largest commercial print firm, through Monotech Systems, a partner since 2016.

For more than two decades, Fujito PTE has supported Kodak to encourage the growth of Kodak prepress solutions in Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Myanmar.

“Kodak and our dedicated channel partners crossed a significant milestone with the installation of our 1001st CTP across India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Myanmar,” said Bhalchandra Nikumb, Managing Director, India & West Asia Cluster, Eastman Kodak Company. “Thanks to the tremendous support of our partners in the region, Kodak has been able to help printers improving how they operate while becoming more profitable and sustainable.”
