Labelexpo India 2022: all set for a record line-up of products and services!

Labelexpo India, South Asia’s leading labels and package print exhibition, is set to see participation from more than 250 industry-leading exhibitors and unprecedented number of visitor registrations. Here’s a glimpse into this fair.

Labelexpo India 2022 is taking place from November 10-13, 2022 at India Expo Mart and Center, Greater Noida, India. This year’s event is packed with more unseen technology than ever before and is an unmissable opportunity to experience the latest launches from leading industry names including Avery Dennison, Bobst and Monotech Systems.

Proving that digital printing has advanced from a complementary technology to a competitive one, India has adopted the conversion to digital printing quicker than anyone could have predicted. Labelexpo India 2022 will feature demonstrations from key digital players such as HP, Konica Minolta, Esko, Epson, Domino, Pulisi and Monotech.

The hotly anticipated four-day show will feature new exhibitors, live demonstrations and new developments in label and packaging technologies. This year’s show will have more than 250 industry leading exhibitors and Label Manufacturers Association of India (LMAI) Awards night on 11 November 2022 and a Digital Embellishment Trail.

As the show approaches, the Labelexpo India team organized a roadshow at Park Plaza in Ludhiana on October 14 in association with Offset Printer Association (OPA) to encourage regional commercial print businesses to visit the upcoming show. The event, attended by more than 80, focused on business diversification opportunities in labels.

Speakers from Avery Dennison, Flexo Image Graphics, HP Indigo and Fujifilm Sericol presented the current label industry trends. The presentations were followed by dinner and networking.

Standard Printers Providers to focus on Taiyo press

Representing Taiyo Kikai Japan, Standard Printers Providers will promote Taiyo’s UV rotary flexo narrow web label press capable of handling a wide range of substrates including paper, films, light-weight carton, and laminates with high productivity and ease of operation.

Acme unveils new roll engraving technology

Manufacturer of ceramic anilox rolls and sleeves, Acme Rolltech will launch ACE (Advance Channel Engraving) rolls/sleeves engraving technology at Labelexpo India 2022. The company will have product information at its stand K1 in hall 5 during the exhibition.

The manufacturer will also showcase special rolls used for screen type raised effects ATAC and high density white AHDW. In addition, visitors will see the company’s cleaning solutions and refurbishment program which is driving force for sustainable manufacturing.

Vintex to launch flexo sleeves at Labelexpo India

Rubber roller manufacturing company Vintex Rubber Industries will launch plate mounting and laser engraved sleeves at its booth M13 in hall 5. On display at Labelexpo India will be rubber rollers, plate mounting sleeves, laser engraved elastomer plate, polymer plate and ink chamber seals.

GEW gears up for Labelexpo India 2022

UV curing systems manufacturer GEW will showcase its entire product range at Labelexpo India 2022, emphasizing its UV LED models. The company will highlight how UV LED technology enables narrow web printers to make energy savings and reduce their carbon footprint.

GEW will show the latest UV LED curing system, AeroLED, at the forefront of its product range. Furthermore, visitors to the show will be able to see AeroLED in operation on a working demonstration press.

The AeroLED attracted significant attention at Labelexpo Americas in September due to the energy savings offered to printers who upgrade to this system. GEW expects that most print companies will see 50-70 percent energy savings when moving from conventional UV to UV LED.

Holostik to launch new security label products

The company will launch Nano Optical Image OVDs (optically variable devices), which are secure and technologically advanced OVDs or security holograms. The master of these OVDs is shot at a resolution above 6,00,00 DPI. It can include nano text (up to 5 microns), nano images and microstructure.

Also on offer will be Optashield, based on custom holographic technology, displays two different colors at two different viewing angles. It is among the most secure and convenient authentication device in the anti-counterfeit industry, the company said.

Sandilyam showcases latest code verification technology

Sandilyam is a provider of code quality and verification products with more than three decades of experience in symbol verification and image quality experience. The company will launch the latest in the series of 15xxx for comprehensive analysis and reporting on all aspects of code design, encodation and print quality at its stand E24 in hall 3. The latest in these code verifiers for both linear and 2D codes would be on display and demonstration. The company will also showcase a range of code verifiers and generation software and majorly focused on the area of standards verification. The range of verifiers cover the linear classic, speed verifiers and camera verifiers.

Newgen Printronics at Labelexpo India 2022

Newgen Printronics, a printing and converting technology provider for the labels printing and packaging industry, will promote products from several international manufacturers including Durst Group AG (Italy), Omet (Italy), Packers (Korea), Polly Automatic (PRC), Berhalter (Swiis), Lundberg Tech (Denmark), DCM (France), Allen Pack (Taiwan), Heaford (UK), Alphasonics (UK), Rotary Technologies (PRC) and Alphacure (UK). Visitors at Newgen Printronics stand P13 in hall 7 will see a live demonstration of Durst Workflow Software.

Polyart shows new portfolio first time in Asia

Polyart group, a producer of speciality solutions on papers and films and synthetic paper, will be showcasing its new extended portfolio at Labelexpo India 2022 for the first time in Asia at its booth E11 in hall 3.

Its extended line of papers and films ranges from specialty facestocks to tag material and in-mold label material for blow molding. During Labelexpo India, Polyart group will be launching two new sustainable substrates. Of these, r-Polyart, synthetic paper made of 30 percent post-consumer recycled material. r-Polyart looks and prints like 100 percent virgin material, and is said to have virtually the same mechanical properties, but a lower carbon footprint. Applications include industrial, VIP and prime labels.

While, Fiberskin, a weather resistant paper, recyclable and biodegradable, printable by dry toner, for short term outdoor exposure. Applications include outdoor tags, labels and signages.

Pulisi brings digital press at Labelexpo India 2022

Pulisi will display AOBEAD digital press model DPIM330 for the first time after recent global launch in Korea and USA in addition to home country China. The multifunction UV inkjet label press with 600 dpi and 1200 dpi offers configuration of flexo+W+CMYK+flexo and inline Inspection system.

DuPont brings new platemaking technology to Labelexpo

DuPont Cyrel will highlight Cyrel Fast thermal plate-making technology for flexographic printing at its booth L20 in Hall 5. The company will promote the new DuPont Cyrel Lightning UV LED exposure optimized plates at the show. The Lightning series are the plates of choice for LED exposures to achieve high quality printing across a broad range of packaging segments. Cyrel LSH is the photopolymer formulation for the solvent workflow. DuPont will demonstrate live flexo platemaking with the entire Cyrel Fast thermal workflow technology during the show.

MLJ to launch new labelstock and liners

Self-adhesive label stock and silicone liner manufacturer MLJ Industries will launch and showcase a host of release liners and label stock materials at booth B9 in hall 1. The company will promote release liners such as glassine, paper, CCK, SCK, recycled PE liner yellow and white, MG kraft and PE. Among labelstocks, MLJ will show semi gloss, PP white, PP silver, PP clear, DT, silver MET paper and removable silver PP.

The manufacturer will launch clear on clear, battery, tyre, pharma, speciality labels for corrugation, wash off, PET clear, PET white label, PE clear, PE white and repositionable labels and PET liner.

Apex International promotes anilox technology

Manufacturer of anilox rolls, sleeves, glue sets, metering products, and print maintenance technology Apex International will show GTT anilox technology and address Flexokite knowledge center at its booth B30 in hall 3. Mangesh Bhise, director of sales Apex Asia Pacific, said,“We all are excited for Labelexpo India which is happening after long gap of two years. We are showcasing our proven GTT anilox technology and its benefits to printers along with our wide range of products for various markets. We would also be addressing Flexokite – one stop flexo experience center located in our factory premises which is one of our key strengths and demonstrates the capabilities to support entire flexo ecosystem through key competences of each of our Flexokite partners for all markets.”

AKO Flexo exhibits for the first time at Labelexpo India

Gujarat-based flexo press manufacturer AKO Flexo is setting up its production unit in Mundra seaport for sales in India and overseas and is participating for the first time at Labelexpo India 2022. It will display its 8-color flexo press at the show.

The company already has a manufacturing plant in China that will continue to operate for the local demand. The new India plant will be operational by March 2023. Ashish Patel, CEO of AKO Flexo, says,“We see a bright future for combination presses for laminates and shrink sleeves. We receive more demand for them, including flexo roto gravure and wide web presses.”

Maxcess to show new products at Labelexpo India 2022

Maxcess will promote its new products RotoMetrics Accu Adjust Dual Adjust Anvil fully-automated anvil control and FIFE-500 Max web guiding system for guiding tags and labels accurately.

The RotoMetrics Accu Adjust Dual Adjust Anvil features easy-to-use digital controllers on the front of the die stack, quick installation into a press and automation-ready motors that ship with the unit itself.

Nadine Powell, global product manager for RotoMetrics, a Maxcess Brand, shares,“We designed the new AccuAdjust from the ground-up with our global R&D team to give customers an intuitive and powerful tool to control liner variation that our customers are seeing on a daily basis. With shortages in skilled labor, liner variation changes and material supply issues that every press operator is facing, the new AccuAdjust will be a welcomed solution to cut perfect labels, while reducing scrap from common liners such as PET, Glassine and Kraft.”

Epson relaunches SurePress range in India

Epson India will relaunch the SurePress range of digital label presses in the local market after a four-year break. Epson has started preliminary activities to relaunch its successful SurePress digital label press in the Indian market. Vasudevan, General Manager – Large Format Printers/Industrial Equipment says,“Even though we were not directly present in the market for the last few years,we were getting enquiries for our label press. We have now relaunch these products in the Indian market, and we are confident that we will get a positive response from the market.”

He adds that the adaptation from analog to digital technology for labels has been slow in India, despite India being a big market in companies to other western countries such as Europe and US where label converters are actively adopting digital technologies.

“Earlier we just had one model to offer and its productivity was not comparable with analog presses. Even the customers expectation was the printing speed to be at least 45-50 mts/min. With the launch of the new product – the Epson SurePress L-6534VW, we should be able to meet customers’ expectations on productivity,” Vasudevan says.

Konica Minolta brings AL230 digital press at Labelexpo India 2022

Konica Minolta will show a live demonstration of the AccurioLabel 230 digital label machine along with the DPR digital die-cutting machine at the show. The company will also showcase print samples of its upcoming press MGI JETvarnish 3D Web to be launched in early 2023.

The JETvarnish 3D Web allows printers of labels, sleeves, flexible packaging, or flexible cartons to apply a 100 percent digital finishing on rolls ranging from 100mm width to 420mm, on media previously printed in offset, flexo and digital. This equipment applies selective UV varnish and hot foil stamping, in 2D/3D, on all types of labels or light cardboard, using MGI inkjet technology. The selective UV varnish and the hot foil stamping adds sensory and tactile dimension to labels.

The 100 percent digital technology of the JETvarnish 3D Web applies these coatings in fixed or variable data to enable different hot foil patterns or selective varnish on each label/sleeve or packaging coated. On-the-fly registration, controlled by artificial intelligence (AIS Smartscanner), allows perfect registration of the varnish and the gilding, by adapting their application to the defects observed in real time on the printed roll.

Multitec to debut new press features

At the show, Multitec will display its S1 full servo press in an 8-color 450mm configuration. The press will be equipped with a combination of LED and UV dryers, a multi-layer coupon label kit, and new operator-friendly features. The company will also showcase new E4 press with twin servo technology and a full LED UV configuration. Amit Ahuja, CEO of Multitec, says, “This will be an interesting launch for the market as it will be with a new concept of an economical press with the advantage of dual servo technology.”

QSR Slitter rewinder with 100 percent defect detection will also be running live at the show. All the machines on Multitec stand will be on live demonstration. Live demonstrations of printing on thin substrates including 12 micron PET, 2-layer labels and features such as auto-registration will be on display. The company will introduce several new features in its presses at the show.

AICA ADTek to showcase label adhesive range

Hot melt adhesive manufacturer AICA ADTek will promote AICA Melt label adhesive brand at its booth E35 in Hall 3. AICA ADTek (ADTek Consolidated) is an ISO 9001:2015 and ISO14001:2015 certified company founded in 1994 to meet the growing demand for hot-melt adhesives worldwide.

Visitors at AICA booth will see AICA Melt hot melt pressure-sensitive adhesive products made of thermoplastic rubber formulated for tape and label applications and do not completely set and remain permanently tacky. The adhesive formulations meet the final products’ requirements such as peel strength, heat resistance and cold resistance. AICA Melt can be made in several block, pillows or drums.

Dow to unveil new products

Manufacturer of release coatings and adhesive films for the pressure-sensitive industry Dow will launch SL 184 SYL-OFF SL 184 coating its stand E3. A key focus for Dow’s pressure-sensitive market involves delivering silicone-based solutions that meet customer needs by optimizing performance, and improving efficiency across a variety of applications.

The company will also promote SYL-OFF SL 184 high speed coating, SYL-OFF EM 7978 food release coating, SYL-OFF SL 351 hygiene release coating, DOWSIL 2014 adhesive solventless PSA, DOWSIL 7651 and 7652 adhesives for protective films and tapes at the show.

Esko to showcase benefits of plate room automation and inline print inspection

From booth #L20 in Hall 5, the Esko team will demonstrate how its portfolio of hardware and software solutions enable businesses to better digitize, automate and connect to accelerate the go-to-market process of packaged goods.

“Today’s challenging and volatile market conditions mean that label converters face tremendous pressures, with an ever-growing need for accuracy, consistency and efficiency,” said Karan Talwar, Esko Sales Director for South Asia. “We are excited to demonstrate our latest innovations, from our CDI Crystal XPS flexo platemaking solution through to our AVT print inspection technologies, so that visitors can see for themselves how Esko solutions empower label professionals to improve ways of working, eradicate waste and optimize operational processes.”

Karan said Esko will showcase how automation in the flexo plate room can boost productivity and improve quality, while inline 100% print inspection minimizes waste and drives efficiency gains.

At the heart of the Esko booth, the CDI 4835 and XPS Crystal 4260, in combination with the new Flexo Engine module, will demonstrate how digitization in flexo production also boosts efficiency while delivering the best quality plates. “The CDI Crystal XPS excels in efficiency, reducing manual steps by 50% and errors by 50% resulting in less plate waste, alongside reducing operator time by as much as 73%,” he said. “Boosted by our Print Control Wizard software – which in the latest release now includes additional X-Rite color profiling, reducing the number of print trials for press fingerprinting – the system produces plates that deliver the optimum print results. Esko will emphasize the benefit of automated processes by demonstrating its AVT Helios line at Labelexpo India.

“A market-proven, automatic 100% inspection solution designed for labels and other narrow web printing applications, the Helios system automatically inspects the printed web for defects and imperfections, delivering exceptional quality results and eliminating customer rejections,” said Karan.

Vetaphone corona at Labelexpo India 2022

Surface treatment manufacturer Vetaphone will be supporting its agent Weldon Celloplast (C9 Hall 1) at Labelexpo India 2022. The Danish company will have several of its corona units on working demonstration at the show. On stand F15/17/19 in Hall 3, India-based UV Graphics Technologies will be showing two Vetaphone VE-A 520 models on its narrow web Ultraflexflexo line, and two VE-A 460 models on its Ultraflex hybrid line, where the digital element is powered by Domino. All Vetaphone corona treaters at Labelexpo India have the intelligent 2KW Vetaphone iCorona generators and are fitted with four ceramic electrodes in each unit.

Vetaphone has a market share exceeding 80 percent in the narrow web sector. The company’s global sales and service network ensures that users are never far from after sales service and technical support, with a ready supply of spare parts.

Cartes to exhibit at Labelexpo India with Weldon Celloplast

Cartes Italy will exhibit at Labelexpo India 2022 in hall 1 booth C9 along with its agent Weldon Celloplast Limited, New Delhi.
