Debnath Saha, Proprietor of New Diya Digital, shares how the Ricoh ProC9500 fits into their business and how Minosha India has provided timely service and valuable support.

P&P: Brief us about your company’s history and your personal background?

Debnath: Diya Digital and New Diya Digital are two firms operated by me and are based in Kolkata. Specializing in brochures, danglers, leaflets in the barcode printing and labeling industry,celebrating its existence of over 18 years in the industry, Diya Digital takes pride in being one of the first in his locality to install Ricoh ProC9500.

P&P: Brief us about your primary client base, the major market segments you serve, and the types of job applications you handle?

Debnath: We offer various printed products like visiting cards, leaflets, brochures, danglers, all the commercial jobs, digital printing and packaging. In offset, we offer tag printing and label printing.

P&P: What are the primary challenges your business faces, and how does Minosha address these challenges with its products and solutions?

Debnath: The need for digital printers in our facility led us to explore various options and collaborate with multiple competitors. Ultimately, our search brought us to Ricoh, a solution provided by the Minosha team. I also visited their stall at Pamex 2024 and was impressed with the machine’s performance and with the assistance of the sales team decided to go with Ricoh ProC9500.

Incorporating Ricoh into our operations has streamlined our printing processes, particularly for variable data. As a company focused on printing labels and tags with barcodes, the role of digital printing presses, such as Ricoh, is crucial. The ease with which Ricoh handles small quantities of variable data has notably improved our printing capabilities. This strategic alignment with Minosha and their Ricoh solution has proven instrumental in overcoming our challenges and enhancing the efficiency of our printing operations.

P&P: What prompted your decision to invest in Ricoh products, and how has Minosha addressed the associated challenges through its products and solutions? Also, could you elaborate on the training and educational support provided by Minosha India?

Debnath: Our decision to invest in Ricoh products was primarily driven by the need for business expansion. Ricoh’s offerings aligned well with our growth objectives. In terms of training and education, Minosha conducted comprehensive training sessions for our operators. Furthermore, Minosha’s pre sales manager regularly guides them in color management, media flexibility, and color profiles. This ongoing expert support ensures that our team remains well-versed in utilizing Ricoh products to their full potential.

P&P: The adoption of technology, especially in Indian printing houses, can be a complex endeavor. How did you navigate the installation of the Ricoh digital press?

Debnath: The Team is highly skilled, very efficient in executing the tasks. The installation process for these machines was remarkably smooth for us.

P&P: What is your perspective on the strengths of Ricoh products, and how do you capitalize on their features for specialized tasks or specific applications?

Debnath: In our assessment, Ricoh machines exhibit a remarkable level of sophistication, being relatively recent additions to the market. Their downsides are minimal, contributing to a positive overall impression. The Ricoh Pro C9500, in particular, is a high-end machine that offers the flexibility to handle higher GSM papers, resulting in superior print quality. We have observed that Ricoh products excel in print quality, media flexibility, uptime, and productivity when compared to competing products. Leveraging these attributes, we find ourselves well-equipped to handle a diverse range of specialized tasks and specific applications.

P&P: Which specific capabilities and quality aspects of the Ricoh digital production printer do you believe can enhance your business and contribute to improved margins?

Debnath: We anticipate that the enhanced productivity and superior media flexibility offered by the Ricoh Digital Production printer will play a pivotal role in strengthening our business and positively impacting our profit margins.

P&P: Highlight how using the Ricoh Minosha printer benefited and helped you in the business.

Debnath: I would like to emphasize the positive impact that the Ricoh Minosha printer has had on our business. Our experience with Ricoh and Minosha India has been exceptionally smooth and Minosha is providing timely service support. The Minosha Service team is always available for any support and proactive in addressing our needs. Thus far, our experience with Minosha has been highly satisfactory and aligns with our expectations.

It has been few months since I am using the machine. The machine Ricoh Pro C9500 is a great investment.

Per month volume of prints increased from 30,000 to 1,90,000 prints. Quality is getting really appreciated by customers and the speed is unmatchable. The production capacity is huge, print quality has improved to 60- 70%. It can print up to 470 GSM easily. Envelope Printing and Banner size printing is also possible. I can print without worrying now. For Toner, spare parts also there is no issue as the support is tremendous.
