Established more than three decades ago, the Mumbai-based print service provider Silverpoint Press Private Limited (SPPL) has selected the HP Indigo 3550 digital press to deliver wide range of products. “By installing HP’s flagship sheet fed press, we gain the combination of productivity enhancements, offset-quality imaging and very low waste that can take Silverpoint Press’ business to the next level,” commented Shabbir Muchhala, managing director- Silverpoint Press.

The HP Indigo 3550 is HP’s flagship sheet fed press, offering true offset and photo quality imaging up at speeds up to 68 four-colour, letter-size pages per minute. It is ideally suited to handle short to medium-run length jobs as well as high-value applications, such as variable-data-driven marketing collateral, photo books and personalized direct mail. In addition, the press prints on a wide variety of HP Indigo-certified, environmentally credentialed third-party media. “The HP Indigo delivers exceptional offset quality with the availability of up to five-colour printing, enabling the use of pantone spot colours to meet any strict branding requirements customers may have. The press also offers state-of-the-art colour management, with HP Professional Pantone emulation and ICC profiles, and can be used to produce business cards, postcards to specialized applications such as short run books, booklets, and labels, apart from printing the line of photo products such as photobooks, photo calendars, and posters,” commented Alon Bar – Shany, vice president and general manager, HP Indigo, Digital Press Division, while inaugurating the press.

Being associated with some of India’s most respected companies, MNCs and advertising agencies as well as creative artists and photographers, Silverpoint is seeing momentum behind its short-run work. Unlike its offset presses, however, the HP Indigo 3550 allows the company to produce shorter-run quantities without disproportionate amounts of waste. “We are excited to offer our customers true lithographic quality printing on virtually any substrate, and the lower environmental impact the press offers is just as important as the quality,” said Saifee Makasarwala, COO Silverpoint Press, “We never make a business decision without putting a ton of consideration into its environmental impact. We like how the HP Indigo 3550 removes nearly all the make-ready waste in production for more-efficient short-run printing.”

Silverpoint Press’s clients have very high expectations in terms of colour quality and precision. After researching digital printing solutions available on the market, the company found that HP Indigo’s unique ability to print up to five colours – using liquid HP ElectroInks instead of dry toner – made it the only digital press technology that could successfully and consistently meet client’s need. “We consider our customer base to be the most creative in the industry. So the HP Indigo 3550‘s ability to run CMYK inks plus Pantone-licensed spot colours is exciting for us and it really unlocks the artistic potential of our customer base,” added Saifee.
