DQS SPP: a certification process for the printing industry

Printing Industry in India had standardisations mostly for CMYK. Subsequently, G7 was introduced to include RGB too. Some presses introduced 5S for good work practices with a scope for Quality Circles at grassroot levels. DQS (Deutsche Quality Services)from Germany questioning the Sustainability of these introduced SPP (Sustainable Printing and Packaging Services) established DQS India [Registered as Deutsche Quality System (India) Private Limited] headquartered in Bengaluru headed by Nilesh Dayalapwar, Product Head – Sustainability Services Carbon/Sustainability/Energy/Water and Ganesh Kumar (former Heidelberg India GM) as Product Head looking after printing industry.

DQS SPP is a certification process in three audit stages:

Stage 1: Audit includes evaluation of internal assessment and managerial reviews and the level n of implementation of the criterion set by DQS INDIA.

Stage 2: Audit is to evaluate the implementation including the effectiveness of the client’s SP P Certification requirement.

Stage 3: It is Surveillance Audit. The certificate is valid for 3 years. During the period of validity of the Certificate, on-site audits will be carried out to assess the client’s compliance with surveillance audit..

Such audits will be conducted atleast once in a year.
