With a forward looking approach and a focus on future-orientated technology and innovation, the two co-located trade fairs of CorruTec ASIA and PACK PRINT INTERNATIONAL will offer a one-stop regional platform showcasing end-to-end corrugated packaging and printing solutions.

A new addition to the Messe Düsseldorf Asia (MDA) portfolio, CorruTec ASIA – International Corrugated Technology Exhibition for Asia, will debut from October 19-22,2022 at BITEC, Bangkok, Thailand. A joint collaboration with the Thai Corrugated Packaging Association (TCPA), CorruTec ASIA is a dedicated exhibition for manufacturers and suppliers of machinery, accessories, technology and services from the corrugated and folding carton industries.

Sourcing platform for the corrugated packaging sector

The specialist trade fair will be an ideal sourcing platform for industry experts representing corrugated sheet and box manufacturers; folding carton converters; and rigid carton manufacturers.

It will also feature vertical markets such as packaging designers and product managers from the food, cosmetics, luxury goods, medicine, automotive sectors and more.

The co-location with the well-established PACK PRINT INTERNATIONAL, the two trade fairs will represent the synergistic industries and end-to-end value chain for the packaging, printing and corrugated industries.

Demand for corrugated packaging on the rise: Thailand an ideal location

With global online sales expected to hit US$5.5 trillion in 2023, this will create a significant impact on packaging demand, particularly in the corrugated industry which represents 80% of demand in e-commerce (Five key trends that are changing the future of the corrugated packaging market – Smithers). Coupled with the increasingly complex logistics chain for direct to consumer delivery – e-commerce packages are expected to be handled up to 20 times or more during standard distribution, thus generating a new demand for cost-effective secondary corrugated board packaging.

Thailand’s folding carton and corrugated packaging market is expected to register a CAGR of 8.42% through to 2025, driven by the innovative paper-based packaging developments in the country and advances in digital printing technologies, making Thailand the ideal location to launch CorruTec ASIA.

Partnership with industry associations and professionals

Commenting on the partnership with MDA and synergistic co-location with PACK PRINT INTERNATIONAL, Chusak Deetrakunwattanapoen, President, TCPA, said,“The international expertise and regional know-how of MDA coupled with TCPA’s industry network make for a winning partnership in providing a targeted platform for the corrugated manufacturing sector; representing a broad range of corrugated packaging demand in related industries including food & beverage, transport and logistics, healthcare and others domestically, regionally and internationally. The co-location of the exhibition with PACK PRINT INTERNATIONAL will also be a strong complement for the synergistic industries, and together I believe we are sending a positive and powerful message to the markets that will be beneficial for all involved.”

While, Gernot Ringling, Managing Director, Messe Düsseldorf Asia, said, “As a regionally focused event, and based on the genuine demand from the industry garnered from our market research and discussions with TCPA, the introduction of CorruTec ASIA is an exciting addition to the industry calendar. Especially on the back of an endemic landscape which has seen dynamic market changes – from companies looking at relocating supply chains, the rise in e-commerce and strong demand for packaged food, to its [corrugated packaging] reputation as one of the most used eco-friendly packaging solutions – we believe that the exhibition is well-timed and that the industries will be business-ready at CorruTec ASIA.”
