Printing businesses have experienced significant shift because of the expanding possibilities of digital printing. According to Straight Research reports, global inkjet printing market size is estimated to reach US$192.40 billion by 2031, growing at a CAGR of 8.40%.
Broadening its digital press portfolio, KOMORI Corporation has developed a next-generation J-throne 29, which will make its global debut at drupa 2024. The new 29-inch sheetfed UV inkjet digital press is the latest addition to the company’s digital portfolio which already consists of Impremia IS29s, a 29-inch sheetfed UV inkjet digital printing system and Impremia NS40, a 40-inch sheetfed nanographic printing system.

“Amid this excitement around the return of drupa after an eight-year hiatus, it’s yet another equal excitement for KOMORI to unveil this newly developed J-throne 29 at the world’s number one trade fair for printing,” informs Jitender Rohilla, General Manager-Sales, KOMORI India Pvt Ltd. KOMORI’s theme at drupa 2024 will be ‘Connected Automation’ signifying the company’s expertise in offset, digital, post-press categories and the technology to connect them all.
This newly engineered KOMORI J-throne 29 is capable to operate at the print speed of 6,000 sph (sheets per hour) in single-sided printing mode, marking the fastest speedever produced by a B2+ size inkjet press. In double-sided printing, it is capable to deliver 3,000 sph using the high-precision perfecting mechanism based on KOMORI’s 100-Year Journey of expertise in offset press technology.
KOMORI J-throne 29 can take in maximum sheets up to size 585×750 mm (23×29.5 inch) and thicknesses ranging from 0.06 mm–0.6 mm (0.0024 inch – 0.024 inch) in single-sided mode and 0.06 mm – 0.45 mm (0.0024 inch–0.018 inch) in double-sided mode. But only in duplex mode, it can take in sheets up to 0.45 mm.
