Monotech makes debut for Xeikon digital label press in India

With increasing potentials in the packaging market, the converters offering diversified packaging services have started to invest in cutting-edge technologies in a big way. Mumbai-based WebTech Industries Pvt Ltd recently ordered two units of Xeikon 3030 digital label press through Monotech Systems Limited, Chennai, the distributor for Xeikon digital presses in India. Being one of the leading high quality pressure sensitive/self adhesive label converters in India, WebTech is constantly upgrading their plant and machineries for catering to the prestigious clients in pharma and FMCG segment. Established in 1998, the company decided to add Xeikon digital label press to their state-of-the-art printing unit along with series of flexo label press with online and offline converting machineries, automatic label defect detection system, etc.

According to Amar B Chhajed, director of WebTech, before opting Xeikon, they have studied many other options for digital label press and found Xeikon more suitable to meet their requirements. The main reason to buy Xeikon digital label press was primarily to add short run label and variable data printing facilities into their label printing line. In their comparison, WebTech has found Xeikon to be superior in terms of print quality and productivity. Also, Xeikon prints are FDA (Food Grade) compliant and have very high light fastness feature which is very important for pharma label printing. “Digital technology is the future growth area for WebTech,” pointed out Amar.

S Venkatesh, general manager of Monotech Systems Ltd conveyed that Xeikon digital label press is a true professional solution for different types of labels and folding cartons and it is based on electro photographic imaging technology with full rotary system. Hence, it can achieve its maximum speed irrespective of size of labels & coverage of colours. By adding Xeikon digital press to their products line WebTech can comfortably handle short run and specialised labels, flexible packaging and folding cartons from 40 gsm substrates to 350 gsm normal substrates without any top coating.
