Stronger trends

Considered to be China’s earliest and largest printing trade fair till date, China Print is a quadrennial event established in 1984 and became the first Chinese establishment being enrolled as UFI member. In its attempt to meet the demands surging in the country’s rapidly expanding printing market, the expo branched out its sister concern Print China 2007 debuted in Dongguan City. Then the second edition of Print China in 2011 pitched into a bigger aspect as the expo was organised in an exhibition floor of 1,20,000 sq m. Such continuing developments in China Print and Print China over the last 30 years have gained worldwide recognitions of the two unbeaten printing trade exhibitions.

Backstage players

A joint venture between Printing Equipment Industries Association of China
(PEIAC) and CIEC, China Print Show Company (CPSC) is the main organiser of China Print. Based on China Print and Print North, CPSC aims to deliver top quality exhibition and conference services to China’s printing and other related industries. The company keeps improving its services so that they could provide better supports to the development of the country’s printing industry. PEIAC is the largest printing association in China which has an extensive membership of all printing barons of the country.

Three international printing alliances viz. UFI, Global Print and Asia Print strongly support China Print. UFI is a Milan-based association of the world’s leading tradeshow organisers. In the meantime, Global Print established in Dusseldorf in 2008 is an alliance initiated by ten countries, namely, China, India, Germany, USA, UK, Japan, Italy, France, Spain and Sweden. And Asia Print is a Korean printing alliance formed by members including Korea, China, India, Indonesia, Philippines, Pakistan and Sri Lanka with an aim to promote Asian printing industry.

Inspiring factors

China Print would cast a phenomenal shadow of new business opportunities popping up in China’s printing industry. In the promotion plan of cultural activities issued by the State Council of China, printing sector has been included as one of the nine key industries which play strategic roles in the country’s social and economic developments. Prosperity in domestic cultural market, expansion of creative industry and sustainable growth of related industries provide a larger market space in the country’s printing industry.

China’s 12th Five Years Plan (2011-15) for the printing industry estimates that outputs in the sector will exceed RMB 1,000 million by the end of the plan. It means that the country’s printing industry estimated to become the second largest in the world. And it is believed that China will witness several printing companies with revenues above RMB five billion and more than 100 companies with revenues of over RMB one million. China Print 2013 will be such a platform reflecting all such prospects tending in the country’s printing industry.
