Introduction of HP Latex 3000 in the Indian market marked with Hewlett Packard’s contented announcement of the first set of installations of the printer in Bengaluru. HP congratulated SSR Enterprises and SR Digital Imaging-Auto Graphics for being the first two adopters of the high-end latex printer in the country at a formal launch session organised in the city on June 16, 2014.

Puneet Chadha, Sheik Rahmatullah, DJ Bangara and Imtiaz BatkooDrawing attention to the current market dynamism picking up aggressively in the graphic art segment, Puneet Chadha, director, market development, Graphics Solutions Business, HP Asia Pacific and Japan put the credit to their customers who have been using HP printers and special applause was made for SSR Enterprises and SR Digital Imaging-Auto Graphics – of course, the first Indian customers of HP Latex 3000. Inviting the two signage leaders upon the launch pad, Puneet appreciated the mutual cooperation and partnership developing among the industry players. He quoted GB Shaw’s famous saying ‘If you have an apple and I have an apple and we exchange these apples then you and I will still each have one apple. But if you have an idea and I have an idea and we exchange these ideas, then each of us will have two ideas’ to boost the spirit of industry players for future development through cordial relationship among each other.

Putting a spotlight on the versatility of HP Latex 3000, Puneet explained that the printer is designed to fit into the current market setup where myriad of applications beyond those traditional signage and display graphic applications keep pouring in across the graphic art domain. “Today, we use the term ‘graphic art’ to include a huge arena covering a range of activities like wall graphics, photo and fine art, decorations, corrugated packaging, etc that occupies 85 percent of this segment while the rest are come under the category of personalised items,” he explicated. HP Latex 3000 is a new breakthrough in industrial printing raging from wall covering to vehicle graphics, outdoor banners, etc. Runs at 830 sq ft/hr for high-quality indoor graphics and 1950 sq ft/hr for outdoor prints, this cutting-edge printer delivers durable, high-quality, high-volume printing, plus the ‘green’ benefits of HP latex water-based inks.

Having installed the HP Scitex XL1500 as its first HP printer in 2010, adoption of HP Latex 3000 represents the third HP printer in a row at SSR Enterprises. “As our customer base continued to grow, we realised that we needed a more agile and steady printing solution,” said Sheik Rahamathulla, CEO, SSR Enterprises. He further mentioned that with the installation of the HP Latex 3000 they have moved to not only a more eco-friendly platform but also overcome their earlier limitation of not being able to print on substrates like canvas and window fins. “As prints are now more scratch resistant, we are further bringing down the cost of printing for our customers by eliminating the need of lamination,” asserted Sheik adding “With the HP Latex 3000 we can confidently execute a variety of printing jobs offering better turnaround time and lower cost of printing to our customers.”

Since HP latex technology has been the backbone of its business with a portfolio containing HP Scitex FB500 and HP Latex 800, SR Digital Imaging-Auto Graphics over the last 11 years has evolved to address various turnkey requirements of leading national brands – from printing to fabrication. “We have made heavy investments in marketing to further strengthen our pan India reach for corporate clients. In line with this expansion, we felt the need to consolidate our printing operations with a more efficient solution,” said DJ Bangara, MD, SR Digital Imaging-Auto Graphics. He added, “We are excited with the installation of the HP Latex 3000 as it is an industrial printer which offers broader media versatility, including printing on heat-sensitive substrates.”

Puneet mentioned that HP has been focusing on enabling everyone using their printers to offer innovative solutions to their customers. He further assured the installations of HP Latex 3000, SSR Enterprises and SR Digital Imaging-Auto Graphics could broaden their customer offerings and stay ahead of the curve.
