Offset Printers’ Association completes 25 years

Offset Printers’ Association (OPA) on completion of 25 years of service to the printing fraternity, the silver jubilee celebrations of the Offset Printers Association (OPA) was recently held in Ludhiana. On the occasion a souvenir ‘OPA Time line’ was also released, which included the important activities the association do undertake.

OPA president Parveen Aggarwal honoured during the celebration.“OPA has had an illustrious past with contributions of our first generation of printers and I hope this to continue to be enriched by the upcoming generations. We believe that serving the printing industry is our motive. We have around 35 associations affiliated to OPA from small towns. We visit regularly to educate them about the latest government schemes and developments in printing. Another feather was added to OPA’s cap when we got opportunity to host 144th GC of All India Federation of Master Printers,” told Kamal Chopra.

OPA is currently working on various projects for the benefit of printing industry i.e. Print Yatra, Print Chetna and Printing and Packaging Cluster. Under Print Yatra, OPA carries out interactions with printing associations in different cities to motivate them to work together for upliftment of the printing industry. “Print Chetna” is a very unique and first-of-its-kind project going on with various government schools and colleges, in which the team educates students to adopt printing as a career.

“Award of Honour” to printing and packaging industry stalwarts

OPA felicitated the member units who have been working under the same name and style for the last 25 years. The units were given ‘Award of Honour’ for their contribution to the society. Prof Dr Rajendrakumar Anayath, a well known printing technologist presented the mementos to these printing and packaging industry stalwarts of Ludhiana. These included: Abhinandan Printers, Amarjot Box Factory, Bhagotra Printers, Chawla Box Factory, Elpar Printing Press, Foil Printers, Goyal Press, Malik Printers, Mankoo Box Factory, Neeldhara Transfers, PL Printrers, Roop Rang Printing press, The Cranial Printers and Wattan Printing Press.

Parveen Aggarwal (president, OPA) congratulated the members and briefed about the association’s activities. He appreciated the work by Kamal Chopra (GS) and his team. He also said that OPA will keep on working for the betterment of printing industry as a whole across the country. Members from various printing associations (Lucknow, Karnal, Jammu, Amritsar, Jalandhar, Phagwara, Moga, Sirhind, Patiala, Jagraon, Mansa, Gurdaspur, Bathinda and Muktsar) were also honoured on the occasion.

SS Dhillon, director, MSME appreciated OPAs efforts and asked member associations to come forward and take the initiative to start the cluster programmes and benefits from Govt. schemes.

OPA’s annual calendar released

KS Khurana, president, IPAMA; CP Paul, general secretary, IPAMA and TR Mahajan, vice president (South) IPAMA released OPA’s annual calendar recently during its AGM in Ludhiana. The calendar is regarded as printers’ Jantri, because not only the information about the holidays and working days, but information about the events, seminars, exhibitions or trade fairs relating to printing and packaging industry world over are also given in this calendar.
