Rajeshwari Group installs digital label printer

CDT 1600 PC Sprint from Colordyne Technologies, USA, has been installed at 38 Hundred Labels & Prints, so named Printing Division of Rajeswari Group. This uses Memjet technology. For finishing equipment, they chose GT 364 HFSL from Cartes, SRL, Italy. The new facility, situated in Industrial Estate, Ekkaduthangal, Guindy, was inaugurated by Dr R Laskhmipathi, publisher and partner, Dinamalar, a leading newspaper. The digital printer and finishing equipment were installed with the help of Imaging Technologies, the service provider.

The label and tag printer CDT 1600 produces labels and tags at 160 feets/minute with 1600 x 1200 dpi resolution. With inhouse C751 Pro from Ricoh facility, the press is targeting a niche mark in short run label sector.

While, GT364 has separate units for hot stamping, screen printing, embossing, die cutting and laser cutting. This can be used as stand alone for dedicated screen printing jobs.

G Ramamurthy, managing director, Rajeswari Group and Rajesh, creative head, printing division gave live demos of the machines. For them, personal care, home care, foods & confectionery, pharma, automobiles, airlines, beverages, cosmetics, liquor segment provide a huge market for short run quantities. They chose digital technology for cost effective, energy efficient and less time consuming.

Established in 1977 by G Ramamurthy, Rajeswari Graphics was started with an initial investment of Rs 3800 only. Today, the Rajeshwari group provides not only various kinds of pre-press and post-press consumables, but also offers infrastructure and hospitality solutions. They want to strengthen their printing division and the new installations are a step towards this dream.
