drupa 2024 has once again proved its mettle, showcasing the remarkable advancements in the printing technology sector. The event highlighted the industry’s operational excellence, with 1,643 exhibitors from 52 countries presenting cutting-edge innovations. The international presence was notable, with 80% of visitors coming from 174 countries. Following Europe, Asia was the second most represented region with 22% of attendees, followed by America with 12%. The significant increase in participation from Asia, Latin America, and the MENA region underscored their growth potential in the market.

drupa made it abundantly clear that the industry has great potential for the future, even against the backdrop of many challenges, and that the prospects are promising. In the last financial year, the global printing industry achieved a turnover of around EUR 840 billion (source: Smithers) and continues to develop at varying pace worldwide.

There was a significant participation from Indian exhibitors, clearly showcasing their technological marvels to the rest of the world. There were good number of Indian visitors as well, who were looking for technological upgradation and automation.

The industry is poised for significant growth and transformation in the coming years, driven by advancements in technology and evolving market demands. Digital printing, 3D printing, and sustainable practices are at the forefront of this evolution, offering innovative solutions and new business opportunities. The increasing need for customized and on-demand printing services, combined with the expansion of packaging and labeling sectors, further fuels this potential.

As the industry continues to adapt and innovate, it stands ready to meet the challenges and capitalize on the opportunities of the future.
