Manugraph India in collaboration with the Italian company Carraro S.R.L. has started developing Central Impression (C.I.) Flexo presses. Their newly engineered flagship MANUFLEX 1308-350 press is a game changer in flexo printing. Live demonstration of the press at the recent IndiaPlast 2019 pulled crowds, and Manugraph India invites customers for further trial run of the press at their Kolhapur plant.

MANUFLEX 1308-350 is the collaborative triumph of Indian and European technology. Manugraph India manufactures the press in partnership with Carraro S.R.L., an Italian manufacturer known as the father of C.I. Flexo technology. The press belongs to the new generation of gearless C.I. Flexo presses and is the only ‘Made in India’ machine to offer distinctive edge with key features suitably designed for the Indian market.

This 8 colour gearless C.I. Flexo printing press can run at the maximum speed of 350 m/min and web width of 1300 mm, compatible with wide varieties of substrates such as PE (Polyethylene), PP (Polypropylene), Biaxially Oriented Polypropylene (BOPP), Low Density Polyethylene (LD PE), Polyethylene Terepthalate (PET), Paper, Aluminium and Breathable Film and all materials available in reel. Depending on the sheer requirement of customers, MANUFLEX 1308-350 can also be offered with optional equipments like in-line corona treatment, register control and inspection system, viscosity controller, in-line slitting, etc.

One of the key features of MANUFLEX 1380-350 is its auto deck position control, which helps accuracy in pre-register. The set-up time is also reduced to a minimum to cut down start-up waste. When setting up job, the repeat size can be keyed in and the deck will be positioned automatically. Once the fine tuning is complete and required parameters are met, the job can be saved and recalled for any future production run. The press is ideal for all types of print jobs ranging from short to long runs.

Pradeep Shah, Managing Director, Manugraph India, said that MANUFLEX 1380-350 is engineered, keeping in mind the requirements of both the Indian as well as the global market. With the company’s 45 years of machine building experience and having successfully absorbed various technologies, the C.I. Flexo press is incorporated with quality standards, comparable to the best global manufacturers.

A solid and stable frame of MANUFLEX 1380-350 maintains maximum stability to provide unchanging printing quality in high speed. The cast iron frame of the machine is pre-stressed and properly ribbed to avoid vibration during the printing process. An air-conditioned electric container located on the mezzanine floor of the machine is designed to provide free space for maintenance and problem solving.

The Doctor Blade Chamber is designed with ergonomic tool-less concept with quick change of end seals when the doctor chamber is inside the machine. The pre-lubricated end seal reduces fiction on the anilox surface, allowing a long lasting performance of the seal. The drying tunnel is extended (5 m) with drying boxes and 4 cans for maximum efficiency. The drying circuit is spread over 4 zones, which automatically activates itself as per the set temperature and speed. This helps in ensuring there is complete ink drying during high speed production.

Pradeep Shah at IndiaPlast 2019 where MANUFLEX 1380-350 is demonstrated live.MANUFLEX 1380-350 comes with automatic splicing at unwinder at the production speeds. The tension controls on unwinder are fully automatic through PLC control. With its automatic rewinder, splicing can be done at production speed in different modes, such as diameter/sequential and length. The press features fully automated printing pre-register adjustment. Operator inserts repeat in the supervisor and sets the machine for printing by positioning longitudinal and side registers in the best position.

Optional features available for the press include Auto Pressure Setting, Auto Register Control, Auto Cleaning Systems, Gas or Oil Heating System, Carona Treater and LEL System. Some fields of applications are Food Industry (packaging of chips, snacks, water bottles or labels of soft drinks, yogurt covers, packages of mozzarella cheese, trays of meat products or milk products and anything that comes with plastic film or coupled product film and aluminium), Flexible Packaging (milk film and oil film), Pet Food, Baby Care (printing on diapers and packaging), Security Courier Bags and Preprint for Corrugation.

A team of engineers from Manugraph India has been trained at the factory of Carraro S.R.L. in Italy, giving them hands-on training on the mechanical units, electricals, operations, servicing and maintenance of MANUFLEX 1380-350. This gives Indian customers an added advantage of prompt and timely local service support.
